The role
At Care.com, I worked on the provider side of a large search marketplace. My projects connected acquired business data, warehouse-generated rankings, search behavior, and advertising systems so families could discover more relevant care providers.

Led provider data-model design across engineering levels and built an event-driven ingestion pipeline that onboarded hundreds to thousands of acquired providers into search.
Built a pipeline that loaded warehouse-generated provider rankings into Elasticsearch for ranked results.

A closer look
Provider network
I led the data-model design and built a Kafka-based ingestion pipeline that transformed acquired provider records into entities the marketplace could search. The work crossed service boundaries and had to preserve enough provenance and state to make onboarding reliable at meaningful scale.
Search
A second pipeline moved warehouse-generated provider scores through S3 and Lambda into Elasticsearch. That made offline ranking work available to the online search experience without coupling the warehouse directly to the request path.
Growth systems
I built a delayed workflow that turned unclicked search impressions into provider leads after an hour, and automated daily Google Ads geo-target updates by reconciling campaign providers with postal-code data.
